ahhhh, it is upon us…election season. here is how i think the country should be run:

first and formost, get the hell out of Iraq. we don’t belong there. Osama is not in Iraq. we are creating more enemies the longer we stay. if they don’t want democracy, we can’t force it upon them. something as big as self rule can not be imposed it must be organic, and furthermore…the United States of America is not a Democracy, we have a democratic republic. if we have anyone over there it should be plumbers, electricans, construction workers, ect to rebuild what we tore down. or we should just help the Iraqis rebuild their own country so they can have jobs and running water and other essentials to a civilized life and then start worrying about what kind of system of government they should have. and another thing, i think we should find what happened to the 9 billion dollars that just randomly went missing in Iraq.

secondly i think we should invest heavily into green technology. get us off of oil. and no, nuclear power is not a viable solution. this will create more American jobs, because you just can’t outsource the wind. what’s more the less we rely on oil the less we have to deal with those nutcases over yonder, let India and China duke it out with them. more American jobs, less money to terrorists, 2 birds with one stone. (now this is not to say that all people in the middle east are nut jobs or terrorists, from what I can tell it is quite the opposite, however it is always those with the loudest voices who get noticed)

on the heathcare front I think there needs to be a hybrid system, because as wonderful and glorious as universal healthcare sounds it will not pass congress and it will most likely decrease the quality of our healthcare. I believe that simple things should be free, if you have the flu you shouldn’t have to suffer for 2 weeks with a fever just because you can’t afford to go to the doctor, if you break your leg you shouldn’t have to pay $100 a month for 2 years to get it healed. however if you have a rare form of brain cancer and want the newest and highest technology you should pay for it, or at least your insurance company should. this way the insurance companies stay in buisness, there is still ground breaking research and a poor man doesn’t die from pnuemonia because he can’t afford to see a doctor or get his prescription.

immigration is a toughie but here goes, secure the borders. and get those who entered illegally on the road to citizenship or paying taxes, if they refuse then kick them out or deny them services. it may sound cruel, but it maybe the only way to get the situation under control, and there was a time when i thought differently but now, if you want to be a citizen, learn english. if you run over some kid in your van because you can not read the children at play sign, we have a problem. this is a country of immigrants i understand that, hell i am only second generation american however, my family came here to be citizens of this country not drain it’s resources, commit crimes, and put money into the economy of a different country. and I definatley think that by helping central american economies, especially mexico but not exculsivley, the problem will greatly decrease.

other important points: waterboarding = torture, stop giving tax breaks for outsourcing, close guantanamo, increase (not decrease) the pell grant, stop predatory lending,  pay teachers more,  stop abstance only sex education, recognize gay marriage, grant full and equal rights to both women and gays/lesbians, legalize pot (tell me the last time you saw a violent pot head), keep abortion safe, legal and rare, support AIDS education at home and abroad, get involved where it matters Darfur, Kenya, Congo, Chechnya, ect and stop activist judges.

and last but not least a list of countries and our association with them

• Russia-more dangerous now than in the cold war, keep wary but open lines of communication
• China- economically dangerous, stop importing so many Chinese goods give the jobs to Americans who do not use lead based paint
• Iran- leave them alone, they are on the verge of civil war as it is. they will implode
• France- rebuild partnership with them, they have great art and fine wine
• Israel- stop defending them so ardently, they are screwing the Palestinans and our defense of them is making us an enemy to every one in the middle east
• Saudi Arabia- get out of their pocket, where did most of the terrorists on 9/11 come from….I’ll give you a hint( it starts with Saudi and ends with Arabia)
• North Korea- approach carefully, while Kim Jong Ill may not be much of a threat, big brother China is more than we can handle
• Pakistan- Endorse efforts to keep stable, those fuckers are Nuclear
